The opening sentence in this film, whose title is unknown to me. is as follows:

Nineteen sixty nine. While the war in Vietnam divided America, a revolution on television brought us all back
together. The Johnny Cash show ran from June nineteen sixty nine to March nineteen seventy one, during a time of
tremendous contrasts; The peace and love of Woodstock, the violence of Altamont; the innocence of Sesame Street, the
senselessness of Kent State, the first walk on the moon, and the last walk of the Beetles across Abbey Road.

Although a search for the above text on Google does not return any exact matches, or even
films! I did, however, find a near-exact match for the phrase "The peace and love of Woodstock, the violence
of" together with the words "Johnny", "Cash" and "Show". And that brings up a pdf
file called "The Study Of Contemporary Musical Trends - Lincoln Interactive" where the four words following
"of" are "another rock festival, Altamont.", which was the part of the opening paragraph I did not
from memory, and wanted to fill in. Here is the URL now (it just came in):

Yes, it is for an online course in the "Lifelong Learners" category for the Lincoln Interactive
website that I have only discovered just minutes ago.

Interesting that I have never heard of this
"another rock" festival, and that Altamont was not even in my chrome dictionary! Nor had I heard of the
violent event that occurred there in 1969. I'd heard of the Kent State massacre, but probably most American kids
today would not have. They would have heard of Woodstock though, I'm pretty sure of that.

Anyway, so I can't give a title to this film because I cannot locate it online anywhere. There were a number of films
in the documentary style that came out right after Cash's death and this was amongst them I presume. It is also one of
those ones that has the balance of "performances" higher than "narrative / interview". 

But be cautioned: Much of the film dwells heavily on Kris (the dish) Kristofferson.


His (Kris's) face
pops up first in any discussion concerning the "good old days" of music, or so it seems to me; always ready to
step in front of the camera, clean shaven and looking dapper as usual, Kris lets off a good long stream of thoughtful
discourse about "times gone by" and "old friends"'; old enough to be dead enough to not have
anything to say about it, curiously enough.
