bewegen de vampiers zich nu openlijk onder de menselijke bevolking.Er heerst een onzekere staat van vrede tussen de
beide groepen.Die is te danken aan de introductie van een synthetische bloedvervanger,
ter beschikking gesteld door
de Roemeense overheid. Vampiers hoeven daarom niet langer jacht op mensen te maken,om zich met hun bloed te voeden,
zoals vroeger gebruikelijk was. Maar desondanks is het een vredesbestand waarmee niet iedereen even gelukkig is.
